Seminar: How to Make Sure Your Website is the Most Evolved in its Class
with Faith Seekings and Noel Tibbles
Social media has changed the way people want to interact with websites. Advances in technology means that a huge array of web-based applications are now available and economically feasible for boutique and mid-sized companies to use. Website visitors no longer want to be broadcasted to, they want to participate. They don't just want to read about your company, but find things that are useful and interesting to them.
What can you do to make your site more collaborative and interactive? How can you put your customers up front and make your corporate content secondary? How does search fit in? With the knowledge that: 1) we are no longer broadcasting information, we are participating in conversations; and 2) the success of a website can't be accurately judged on the number of unique visitors, but how long they stay there, this Seminar will show you how to attract and engage the customers you want.
Websites of the future – which means now – must give visitors ways of interacting instantaneously with each other as well as with your company to provide a platform for reviewing and sharing your collective wisdom on ideas, products and services.
In this seminar you will learn:
- what the future landscape of websites looks like
- which changes will help mid-sized business-to-business clients to create the most impact
- definitions and uses of things like ‘mash-ups', ‘APIs' and ‘dynamic content'
- how to incorporate a social media strategy into your website
- how to ensure your hard-earned brand identity is enhanced through your site
Big consumer-oriented companies like Apple and Amazon may lead the way in their websites, but how does that apply to you and your company? Find out where strategy and technology meet and how that can build your business.
Who is it for:
Marketers and company owners that are committed to growing their business through the web.
Your hosts will be:

Noel Tibbles, Senior Web Developer at Rapport Communications & Design Inc. is a web god who dreams in code and exists primarily in the world of Actionscript, with heavy doses of PHP, HTML and Javascript. He's been in web development almost as long as there's been a web and speaks mystically about his deep understanding of Object Oriented Programming (OOP) and Design Patterns. Noel's dream project is something so complex and overwhelming that he can't wait to solve the problem.
Noel studied web development at Durham College. He is an Adobe Certified Professional and his award winning work has appeared in Marketing Magazine.
In the real world, Noel enjoys golf, and surfs the web, just like a normal person.
